ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The Details is a collection of prints created from small sections of the original paintings in Color Play. While the paintings themselves measure 48 x 60 inches, each print isolates a single area of the composition, inviting viewers to slow down and appreciate the intricate beauty that might otherwise go unnoticed. Layers of color blending, delicate marks, and rich textures become the focal point, revealing the complexity hidden within the larger work.
Presented in a printmaking format, the collection is inspired by a love of traditional print processes, nostalgic postcards, and handwritten correspondence. Each print incorporates text hand typed on the typewriter previously belonging to the artist’s father over his decades long career. Like the paintings from which they are derived, these prints celebrate the beauty that emerges when attention is given to the details.
